Hey all,

I’ve been here in Are, Sweden for the past couple of days at the 2019 Alpine Ski World Championships and racing kicked off today with some challenging conditions. I’ve been pretty busy here with training, ski prep, recovery and other bits and bobs that come along so its hard to keep everyone up to date so here’s a little something to share around if you like.

Opening ceremony!

Leading up to Are I had been lacking confidence in my skiing because of some equipment problems and inconsistent results in races despite having improved a great deal in both of my disciplines. After the last training sessions in Italy and the few I’ve had here in Are I started to gain some good feelings on my equipment and am feeling confident and ready to fully attack the races. That showed today as I finished 34th from bib 53 and scored a personal best in todays Giant Slalom qualification race before tomorrows GS final.

World Championships GS Qualification 2019

Came 34th from bib 53 and scored a personal best in todays Giant Slalom qualification race before tomorrows GS final. Foot baths and flying start huts also made appearances today with heavy rain and howling head winds making for and intersting race. Unfortunately Kieran Norris – Alpine Ski Racer DNF'd in first run which is a shame as top 25 could have been in reach for both of us. I will be advancing to the GS Final tomorrow starting with bib 881st run – 14:152nd Run – 17:45Info – https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/results.html?sectorcode=AL&raceid=95559Live Results – http://live.fis-ski.com/lv-al0133.htm#/shortIts been awesome to see the wonderful reactions, comments and messages from people.
